TIRANA - The republican leader makes the owners dream. "Your land is a true wonder." These are the words of Sabri Godo that moved the members of the Coastal Owners' Association at a protest meeting held in the PR offices. "Let us oppose the law on the sale of plots of land on the coast and remind the government that they are our lands"; these were the main points of the speech delivered before its members by the Chairman of this Association, Vangjel Llazari. KAVAJE - To hold on and not hold on, a motive that usually intoxicates in life and in other people's lives, but which caused a tragedy in the village of Lekaj in Kavaja. A 38-year-old man died after being run over following a bet made with his friends. Yesterday the thorns were not over, and the villager from Lekaj ended up under the wheels of a car. A short trip to Kavaja hospital could not save his life. Then came the word for all the friends involved in this tangled story. "It was my own fault," declared the victim just moments before dying, but this did not help anyone; on the contrary. The tragedy had already happened. At least that is how a simple bet among friends ended in the village of Lekaj. Where does this challenge to death come from? Excessive courage or the usual pride, which can suddenly go beyond all limits of reason? Such situations have been checked not infrequently. Not long ago and not far from Kavaja, a similar event had left a teenager dead, who, trying to challenge his friends, had thrown himself into the icy waters of the Shkumbin. The boy had not managed to get out quickly and his body, swallowed by the raging waters, took a long time to be found by dozens of divers who searched patiently. Even then it had been only a banal cause that had sparked the tragedy; only a bet. Now the story has repeated itself, only this time with an older person and in different circumstances. This time the main protagonist seems to have been a victim of the "love" for cars, a "disease" that has taken hold of many. "My thorns are strong but weak, I was only enough for that, only with eyes and hearing with feet and a "thing" that had on its face the villager from Lekaj was addressed. Later the bet did not want to blame anyone. Perhaps he himself realized that his tragic end had come not as a result of absurd persistence. A persistence that for a moment had made him forget that life is a precious gift and is given only once. So, some
