Does the opposition create an alliance for the elections?

Negotiations between PS and PAD, PSD and PPDNJ in view of a possible coalition Does the opposition create an alliance for the elections? The first reserved meetings of the politicians TIRANA - Opposition parties are beginning to move toward a possible alliance. The first reserved meetings were held yesterday afternoon among the leaders of the opposition parties. Will a Progressive Front be created, a center-left bloc, or...? It seems that opinions are still divided on the terms and the content of a possible cooperation, but news of the first reactions has been confirmed by participants in these meetings. A pre-election alliance among the opposition parties? The idea has long been put on the political table, but only a few days ago did real negotiations begin between PAD, PSD, PS and PPDNJ. Mediated [?] meetings, even official ones, and some of the leaders had not yet been informed. On page 3 Opposition MPs during a debate in Parliament

Gjinushi: It is only propaganda

Law on genocide Gjinushi: It is only propaganda TIRANA - The controversy over the newly approved law on genocide continues. Yesterday, PSD leader Skënder Gjinushi appeared before journalists and appealed to President Berisha not to sign the decree for the law to enter into force. "This law removes the right to choose on the basis of biographical criteria," Gjinushi protested, noting that he is among those politicians who must leave politics until 2002. On page 3 Gjinushi

The "Flamurtari" sportswoman in jail

HISTORY The "Flamurtari" sportswoman in jail VLORE - A routine trial over a property dispute, even if in an atmosphere of stubborn refusal to accept the court’s final decision. It is a scene that, although not rare—indeed, under the new penal code the law punishes it with a fine or up to seven years’ imprisonment for “insulting the courtroom”. What emerged after such a trial in the city of Vlorë were the protagonists, both women, one passive, an assistant judge, and the other very active, as the injured party in the decision. It was even a very well-known name. Pjerte Cika, the well-known basketball player Sadushi, used her hands no longer to score baskets but to grip the court employee by the throat, whom she considered guilty and influential in the court’s decision. Cika is now in the cells of the Vlorë police station, and the upcoming trial against her could sentence her either to a fine or to 11[?] years’ imprisonment for the time предусмотрено by law. On Monday around 2:00 p.m., in one of the rooms of the Vlorë Court, a civil case was being heard, with sportswoman Pjerte Cika, known to basketball fans, as the main figure. Cika, who had recently returned from emigration and held the title of being among the five best women basketball players of all time in Albania, had only recently returned from Greece. On the other side, the opposing party was her family. After the hearing ended, the judges’ panel ruled against the interests of the Albanian basketball player. But after the session, a physical fight broke out between Cika and one of the assistant judges, Anila Galanxhi, who was firmly held by the athlete’s muscular arms. The police then intervened, separating the two women and at the same time detaining Pjerta Cika, who had been very aggressive toward the justice employee. Under the new penal code, Cika’s act is punishable by a fine or by 7 years in prison. "As for the event, I cannot speak specifically, but from the court’s point of view in this case, if a party is dissatisfied, they can appeal through the proper channel and not use violence; therefore, the measure of detention against her seems right to me." Thus declared the president of the Vlorë Court, Artan Hajdari. Meanwhile, at the Prosecutor’s Office, documents are being urgently prepared for the swift trial of Cika’s criminal offense, as after four years of emigration in Greece she has returned to resume her sport with her team "Flamurtari". Rare, but true

MILAN - Coffee, a small stolen item from someone else beforehand. This unusual event happened in Milan, where the young robber had entered a van. While they were trying to open the car door and take the goods out of it, a random passerby saw them and immediately alerted the police. After their arrest, when the stolen pockets were searched, among the boxes that had been used to put the various items in, a package filled with tablets for counseling was found. All of these turned out to have been stolen earlier. Thus, it is expected that, having escaped punishment for attempted theft, the three thieves caused another person to pursue the same “profession,” but in a worse way and to the same end.
