Wage increases, debate in the Socialist Party
Two opposing lines at yesterday’s parliamentary group meeting
Today Parliament debates the law, which will ensure an increase in the wage fund
"Should the wages of Albanian workers be raised by 10 percent?" Polemics and debate broke out yesterday at a meeting of the Socialist Party parliamentary group. Most Socialist deputies were inclined to propose that the "draft law" on several amendments to the State Budget for 1995, to be voted on today, provide for a wage increase of up to 20 percent. Others objected and said that even the increase already decided would contribute to higher inflation.

Papulias and Serreqi smile again
New York
- Hope is returning for relations between Albania and Greece after yesterday’s meeting between the foreign ministers of the two countries, Alfred Serreqi and Karolos Papulias. Yesterday at the "Glass Palace" it was decided to create a joint commission to verify the number of minority refugees in the towns of southern Albania. Six people - three Albanians and three Greeks - will be assigned this delicate task

What the new Albanian money will be like
TIRANA - From the coming January, people will still have Albanian money in their hands. It is completely new compared with the existing one, starting with the figures that will be printed on the coins and banknotes and the dimensions, which will be much smaller than the lek we have now, and extending to the sophisticated security system. Among the figures to be printed, belonging to Albanian culture, there will be 11 security elements, most of which the human eye can easily distinguish.
To make counterfeiting, copying and wear and tear as difficult as possible, the Albanian banknote will have 11 security elements, most of which the human eye can easily distinguish.
"Some painters have drawn and presented their versions of the new figures that will be printed on the banknotes and coins," says the director of the Issue and Treasury Department of the Albanian Bank, Gëzim Dervishi, "and on all denominations there will be, as in every country in the world, only heads of people who have made history at the national level"

He kills the young man: “It should be judged in the village”
STORY
KORÇE - It was a "normal" trial, as normal as it can be called, that sparked the murder. But the villagers’ outrage over the monstrous crime committed against their fellow villager pushed them to demand a harsh, public trial of the guilty man. The villagers, after the killing, assessed it with the shovels of the two brothers from the village, and asked for a “villager’s” trial, where the action of the law would be felt close by people who were angry and deeply indignant at the crime of murder. But is the countryside so hungry for this? Although the session was scheduled to be held only in the victim’s village, the final hearing, the sentencing of the guilty man to 22 years in prison, was held in the halls of the Korçë Court.
The trial had been for a murder. But the people’s outrage at the crime did not stop at merely punishing the murderer with police custody, but also demanded a public village trial. “Let him be judged in the middle of the village” was the demand not only of the victim’s family, but of all the villagers of Floq, in the district of Korçë, for the crime that occurred there last February. And after several court hearings held in the village square, the two brothers were sentenced in the Korçë Court to 22 years of imprisonment for the young man Genci Mediu from Kamenica, after the accusation of murder against them was found to be true.
The घटना occurred on 3 February in a village bar. In a game and quarrel, after a bet over a small sum of money, 21-year-old Fatos Ramolli was left dead. This event involved not only jealousy but also revenge by the victim’s brother and relatives afterwards. He had shot at while fleeing to another village, and it was later found that he had been an accomplice in the murder, a case that has still fallen into the hands of the police.
Shkodër, shots in the unit: an officer is killed by a colleague
After a fierce argument at a meeting
SHKODËR - An army unit has turned into a scene of tragedy, where a young officer was brutally cut down by seven pistol bullets, precisely over a quarrel. It is a tragic case of discipline not being respected, where a heart full of resentment exploded into a monstrous crime. Seven bullets struck Bardhok Mehilli from behind, killing him on the spot and leaving behind only his young family.
A serviceman is thus killed again, this time by a non-commissioned officer from his own unit. The commander of the zootechnics unit, Bardhok Mehilli, 26, from Dashamir Hasani, a non-commissioned officer of this unit, was killed with a pistol.

The athlete Çika fined 200 thousand
She beat up the assistant referee
The decision in Vlorë yesterday
VLORË - Yesterday morning, precisely at 8:00, the trial began of the all-time number two in Albanian basketball, Pjereta Cika, known to sports fans and many others by the surname Sadushi. Moska was the president of the bench. After the hearing, which lasted more than four hours until 12:00, the final and binding decision was reached. She was in fact convicted, based also on the prosecutor Dauti’s request, who had asked for a 200,000 lek fine. Meanwhile, the legal framework could have allowed the prosecution to seek up to seven years’ imprisonment for Çika, who had used violence against the two assistant referees. However, the prosecutor was satisfied with asking only for a fine. This request was also approved by the court itself, which based its ruling on it. The defendant was defended strongly by her colleagues and former coach Petrit Stefa. Çika, however, had already spent 48 hours in detention, the length of her pre-trial custody in the cells of the police station, where she was forced to do “training” for the next match with Gjirokastër’s "Shqiponja". After the trial, Pjereta was taken back to the police station, but this time to retrieve her clothes, rings and earrings before entering the cell.

Bosnia only one step away from peace

SARAJEVO - The Bosnian prime minister, Haris Silajxhiç, declared on Wednesday afternoon that a decision could still be reached in a few weeks. This is considered only without one very important thing, and that it has become possible to include it in the talks with the Serbs.
"If the international community does not find a solution at the high level, I can confidently say that in a few days we will have peace between us." Silajxhiç’s comment comes immediately after the agreement reached in New York by the foreign ministers of Bosnia, Croatia and the FRY, which makes it possible to divide the territory of Bosnia into two almost equal parts, on the one hand the Croat-Bosnian Federation and on the other the Serb Republic

Rare, but true
CHIETI - The curious event took place in a province of Italy. He had gone to a night venue hidden with a periscope, a video camera and a mirror to film from the top of a box, with which he managed to film under the dresses of women who went shopping at the market. The device, invented by 26-year-old M.S., a local in Chieti, and disguised in a bag, apparently aroused someone’s suspicion, who later alerted the police. Officers from the Vasto police station caught him while he was observing with his camera, with restless hands, those passing by. The young man, with very calm hands, living a regular life at home and at the factory, after recording “his desired object” without arousing suspicion, returned home where he gave free rein to his erotic fantasies, with the footage made during his searches. He must now answer before the provincial court on a concrete charge: public indecency.
