Wage increase: 10 percent more on 16 October
Parliament approves the supplement. 160,000 Albanians will benefit
TIRANA - On 16 October, 160,000 Albanians will have 10 percent more money in their pockets.
It was precisely yesterday in Parliament that this wage increase was decided for the entire budgetary system. After many tedious debates were brought to an end by a vote that produced the result 65 for, 0 against and 11 abstentions in favor of the 10 percent wage increase. It was the PS parliamentary group that proposed a 20 percent increase, while only a few days earlier some had called the Government's initiators a "political game by the PD", arguing in favor of not raising wages. Yesterday's PS version - raising it to the 20 percent limit - was described as absurd by the defenders of the bill presented by the Government. "The increase cannot be greater, because it would create a budget deficit," was the opposing argument of the PD deputies

Three victims: to die on the road on a bicycle
Korçë
KORÇË - A bag and a bus were the protagonists of the event in the first three days yesterday in one of the city's main roads. On the Tiranë-Korçë line bus, the police found a bag with drugs - all hashish - so suspicious that the owner was not specifically willing to admit ownership. Faced with the collective admission of guilt or perhaps a sense of solidarity, the police chiefs chose to bring the thirty passengers to the police station as the miserable two were escorted.

To die on the road on a bicycle
TIRANA - To die on a bicycle was the unfortunate fate of three accident victims. Besides the tragic ending - at least for two of the survivors - the dead had nothing else happen to them. While fate spared one of the victims in Elbasan, for the others nothing could be done. The terror of the roads returns here, of sudden death from the wheels of a car and the lack of traffic lights, crossroads, white lines and disregard for traffic rules, which make life more beautiful for people (?) who choose another means of transport... such as bicycles...

Lushnje, judges announce the verdict
Death penalty returns
The accused had massacred in '94 the husband of a woman he wanted to marry
LUSHNJE - Judges bring back the death penalty in Albania. The decision was taken in Lushnje, specifically against the 40-year-old from the village of Bishqem, Aristidh Shano, who in the trial admitted having committed a medieval crime. The instinct to marry the wife of a neighbor had led Shano not only into the adventure of killing the 30-year-old Nexhmi Belegu, but even to another inhuman instinct, to butcher him by throwing the victim's body in different places.

Cërrik, this little Kuwait...
The Oil Plant does not acknowledge ownership of the tank
Cërrik, this little Kuwait...
"Little sheikhs" sell asphalt without an owner
ELBASAN - "Cërrik, little Kuwait..." This will be the song that the inhabitants of the districts full of ownerless bitumen will often sing at their weddings. Dumped there earlier, the bitumen has not found its "owner". The new "sheikhs" sell it to interested people. But while the police these days are following the trail of Lulznesh Vefa, this risks turning into a heritage issue. The [?] meter of bitumen dumped in a huge reservoir near the plant in the 50s-60s has now turned into a real bitumen mine, which anyone exploits. The cleverest among them seem to be the locals, who have built houses on the edge of the improvised mine and sell bitumen to foreigners who come often. The managers of this plant refuse to acknowledge this property as theirs, while the police have from time to time blocked trucks loaded from this reservoir. "The perpetrators cannot be accused, as long as the Plant management does not accept to report it and considers the oil not as their property." This is the dilemma of the Elbasan police leaders, who have now resorted to the local authorities. Is the huge bitumen reservoir in Cërrik state property or not? These are the police authorities who must decide. Together with the local authorities. In the statements made by a resident who claims to be the owner of the land on which the reservoir was built. And in this case it is a small "suk" in a private bitumen mine in a sack[?] over three meters, while no more than ten centimeters below the surface of the ground.
