A maritime adventure in the Adriatic

Montenegrins block an Albanian ship The reasons remain a mystery. “Sanvito” is being held in Ulcinj An Albanian ship was seized on Thursday in the early hours of the morning by a Montenegrin warship while it was returning from the port of Bari. The self-styled informants of the incident are members of the crew of another Albanian ship, who are the last to have communicated by radio with “Sanvito”. It has only been learned that the ship is now being held blocked in Ulcinj. There has been no official response from the Montenegrin authorities. The owner of “Sanvito” has set out from Durrës for Ulcinj. A month earlier, a similar incident had occurred with another ship from Shëngjin On page 3 Shëngjin The ship from Shëngjin was returning to its home port after being loaded in Bari. HISTORY

A bunker? It costs 10 dollars! KRUJE- A miniature bunker. Surely it must have been the clever hand of a craftsman, who worked in alabaster on what is called the “symbol of the communist regime” and which has aroused unprecedented curiosity among tourists. After they look at it from all four sides, they hurry to ask: - how much does it cost? No more than 10 dollars to buy it. Has Albania made and become known for such things? We want to know what this means? - foreigners want something typically Albanian as a souvenir. Those who ask for a carpet or tapestry, even in miniature, are rarer. As for the bunker - and such a bunker, of course, has been handmade - it is much more expensive. Better take this one that costs ten dollars? Murat Aruci

The Alliance refuses an alliance with the PD

Godo responds to Shehu TIRANE - “We will not make an alliance with the PD”. Sabrio Godo, leader of LIDH and initiator of the Right-wing Alliance, ruled out any cooperation with the party in power and stated that the Alliance’s policy is in clear opposition to the Democratic Party. Only two days earlier, Tritan Shehu, Secretary General of this party, had floated the idea of a possible pre-election alliance with the right, as well as with a specific party within the Alliance. Interview PSD’s Apostoli "The Center Pole will draw votes from the PS"

Has the Center Pole been created? These two words have been used often lately by the leaders of PAD and PSD in their political statements. Gado Apostoli of PSD explains that this Pole is a grouping of ideas or of center parties. “It has not yet been officially announced”, Apostoli himself stated, but he clarified that this will happen within this month. “We wanted to cast votes, because due to the PD’s electoral drift, they may go to the socialists”. Rare, but true

STOCKHOLM - Samus Heaney, an extremely beloved Irish poet and Nobel Prize for literature, spoke two days ago at the Swedish Academy in Stockholm to ask whether the news he had received was true. This was reported to Associated Press by the head of the Academy's secretariat, Secretary Monica Holmgren, who had received a very reliable phone call mediated by Heaney, calling from Greece. “The telephone connection was very bad,” Allen said when asked. “It was difficult to understand what he was saying. Then it seemed that confirmation was needed that he had been the winner of the great prize. We could barely make out the word “happy,” and then he told us he would call again once he had returned to Dublin.”

Out-of-place construction "The kiosks that eliminated the market..."

KUKES - A series of conflicts have erupted between kiosk owners and free-market traders. The free market is now almost no longer functioning. Traders feel dissatisfied about this. By having “closed” part of the free market in the city of Kukës, they have created serious difficulties in the work of the commercial sales units that would serve residents. Meanwhile, the Municipality announces that the people who erected the kiosks without any urban project are being penalized for building without a permit, but “all of them are tax-free,” municipal employees explain. Not much time has passed since the construction of Kukës’s free market, for the creation of spaces that are unoccupied. This happens because the kiosks are easily used by traders. Traders have become accustomed to lower rents and to the small amount they have to pay. This creates problems that need to be solved as quickly as possible, p. re

Sarajevo calm, schools reopen

Yesterday in Sarajevo, schools reopen (photo: REUTERS) SARAJEVE. Yesterday was somewhat calmer in the Bosnian capital. The bilateral ceasefire between the Bosnian Serbs and the Bosniaks would delay today's efforts yesterday. A Serb official said that security is expected to improve within a few days. If that happens, peace has been promised in the capital region, where the most intense fighting is taking place. This suggests that another offensive will not begin soon. This phenomenon is explained by the fact that the warring sides are training beyond the limits of their front lines before the ceasefire comes into force. On page 2
