The revolt against Janullatos begins

Church in Elbasan breaks away from the archbishop The first Orthodox Mass entirely in Albanian since 1922. But also physical clashes in the hall ELBASAN - The bells of the Church of St. Mary called the Orthodox faithful on Sunday to pray to God in Albanian. "One of Elbasan's churches has thus become the initiator of the 'Great Revolt' of Albanian churches against the main leader of the Orthodox pyramid in Albania, the Greek archbishop Anastas Janullatos. After debates that lasted half an hour and even escalated into physical clashes, the faithful expelled Janullatos' envoys and continued the first Mass in our language, entirely in Albanian, for the first time since the days of Fan Noli. "Here begins the true autocephaly of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania," declared the new Albanian archimandrite Theofan Koja. PR approves new program: "PD is not our enemy"

Yesterday the Republican National Council TIRANA - Refusing an alliance with the PD does not mean that it should be considered the PR's main opponent. The Republican National Council, which yesterday approved the party's new program and statute, rejected the proposal of the Tirana branch, which had insisted that the Democratic Party be listed among political enemies. "Since they also have in their program the communist element, which is the buying and selling of land, then they are our main opponents," was the argument presented by the republicans of the capital. An argument that sparked heated debate during the meeting but ultimately found no support from the majority and was rejected. Sabri Godo On page 3

Report / With the Albanian fans in Sofia

The group of Albanian fans during the plane trip to Sofia TIRANA - Not by 8, but a full 62 hours to make the dream come true. This was the fate of the 7th "pilgrimage" of the Albanian fans after the national team. Turned back at the border, waits beyond the limits of endurance, absurd fines from the Macedonian police, broken windows on the buses of the Albanian fans while they were following their exhausted dream Bulgaria-Albania - stays in Sofia, forced clandestine crossing of the Bulgarian-Macedonian border was the balance sheet of perhaps the most unique adventure in the world, with unanimous, voiceless protagonists. The balance sheet also records the fact that one could travel even without trouble on the buses of "Koha Jone" through the boulevards of Sofia, or the forced stay of two buses with Bulgarian fans, waiting for the replacement of the broken windows. Child trafficking from Albania?

TIRANA - Albania is switching controversy over the disinformation spread against Albania - based on the newspaper. This time it was the well-known newspaper "Corriere della sera", with an article that says in large letters on the front page. The Italian daily, one of the most serious, opened the mystery of a possible child trafficking network between Albania and Italy - in which "even an Italian government is involved". The newspaper refers to some investigations carried out by Interpol, but Interpol itself denies everything. Our Ministry of the Interior also denied such news a few months ago. "Corriere" cites as the source of its scoop the "press office" of Polizia Zanonei, which until now had limited itself to giving Tirana’s editorial offices, even at intervals, Italian singers, actors and footballers. Now, according to "Corriere", Zanoni had carried out "a careful investigation", denouncing "for human trafficking". In a statement Zanoni, we believe that he should be free to do journalism provided he does it seriously: legal trade with lies is unacceptable. The Italian mass media so loudly criticized Albanian disinformation, because it has done disinformation while speaking about Albania. We have the impression that after this the interpellation is legal. Even the Italian Prime Minister Dini broke it, perhaps in a categorical tone. Or what? Do Italians invent many news stories? ...

"My brother was mistreated in hospital"

Tirana, family files complaint TIRANA - "He is admitted as a patient in the psychiatric hospital, but a day later he was roughly taken by the ward orderly and the police guard." This is what the complaint filed in the Tirana court by the brother of the sick man M.Gj. states. According to him, when he went to visit the sick man, he no longer found serious bleeding wounds on his body. The brother's explanations also convinced him that the injuries were the result of beatings inflicted by the nurse B. Lala and the police officer at the psychiatric hospital, A. Muçollari. Thus, on 16 September at around 9:00 p.m., the two of them had hit him with a rubber baton, fists and kicks, for no apparent reason. The brother learns the truth, a mentally ill person - Sh. Gj. says in his complaint - but he has never been aggressive, so that this beating could be justified." Meanwhile, only if criminal proceedings are opened against the two accused employees will it be proven whether the sick man's statements were true or not. Zra. Kr.

Solidarity saves a child

Story TIRANA - Saneli is 12 years old, but his heart is not that of an easy 12-year-old. He is going through a difficult hell, a heart disease has kept him from playing with his peers. He feels tired even when he climbs the stairs. He suffers from the fourth, so he spends his days without playing, studying and reading. At least also Italian. His future is uncertain, because in Albania there is no medical structure that can treat him. Then, among many others, between the two thin ones and the one from Vlora, the boy has been taken out and his father, the director of the place, and also Serna Marzoni crossed the Mediterranean and is now transporting Saneli to Italy. And for his fate, the case has been awakened by widespread solidarity. Volunteer of Torregrotta in Bologna, who will specialize in cardiac surgery and vascular surgery. ...

Rare, but true

LAPONIA - Want to enjoy a beautiful winter afternoon among the ice? Don't worry, you won't need to go to Antarctica at the frozen white polar edge. Just get on a plane, land in Sweden, and then ask where Lapponia is (a small town in one of the northernmost points of Sweden). There you will easily find the hotel called Arctic Hall. It is entirely built with large blocks of snow, just like the igloos of the Eskimos. Even some of the hotel's original interior furniture is made entirely of ice. The pleasant hotel for many tourists unfortunately exists only during the coldest period and then melts completely. As soon as the right season begins, the icy building is rebuilt again and nothing is missing.
