Just as five years earlier, believers of both faiths gathered in the small church of Rrmaj to remember one of the events that gave courage to society in the midst of the beast of dictatorship: that mass in the church rebuilt within a year as a crown of people’s hope, the end of dictatorship now inevitable. Yesterday, at the solemn Catholic mass, figures who at the time helped give hope to the people took part, first of all Dom Simon Jubani, the untamed man, the first to preach bravely for the harsh year 1967, then Archbishop Frano Ilia and the Chairman of the People’s Assembly Pjetër Arbnori himself, who, although it was necessary to honor in words the suffering people of both faiths, had then delivered one of the strongest blows to the atheist regime. This time the quake struck in the middle of the night at 24:40. Although the initial data on its intensity are lacking, it is thought to have been a magnitude 3 on the Richter scale. The weak intensity meant that there were no human or material damages caused by the shock. No further information about the epicenter of the earthquake, but according to the data the quake was felt more in the area between Ura and near Ura Vajgurore. The information is made even more credible by the very fact that this area is constantly collapsing due to the collapse of the limestone layers beneath it. This is the second tremor within a period of less than a month. The first earthquake in this area was that of 24 October, but it too was weak and caused no material damage, only spreading fear about the possibility of a continuing situation.
