"Enver staged the Corfu incident"
Mehmet Shehu: "The Yugoslavs ordered us"
An unpublished document explains the great mystery of 1946...
The former prime minister: "In reality, mines were laid in our territorial waters by our side. This happened under the following circumstances: In 1946 I went to Belgrade. At that time I was Chief of the General Staff of our Army. Tito proposed that the Corfu Channel be mined. So the mines were laid with the help of Yugoslav sailors. After I received comrade Enver’s approval, I agreed with Tito’s proposals to mine the channel. On our side, only comrade Enver, myself and one Albanian sailor knew about this matter, whereas on the Yugoslav side Tito, the Chief of the General Staff of the Yugoslav Army and their sailors and others knew about it. Not even the comrades of the Political Bureau of our party. The Yugoslav leaders revealed this very big secret by handing it over to the English imperialists, who exploited this matter to create this incident as a provocation against our country".

An illegal immigrant to see his sick sister
TIRANË - A story similar to the suffering of his sister, once again the protagonist is the same headstrong teenager, but with a heart full of love and anxiety for the fate of his older sister. He is only 14 years old, but his age did not stop him from traveling as an illegal immigrant to the shores of Italy, where he was detained in Siracusa. The news has shaken a clear Albanian Tirana these days, where she is being nursed and is in hospital, while it struck the Durres family of the Kalajs like lightning. But there was no hope for the parents to stay close to her. That was enough for the 14-year-old to board a ship as a stowaway and travel across the Adriatic.
Now his arrival is awaited again, the nearest concerned one, while Maria, 25, is in a calm condition. He looks her in the face and calls her name, from a distance, to wake her up and see her smile.
She had been taken to Siracusa with a spiral and was taken on 1 November, while she was something during the journey near the city. According to witnesses, the "leading doctors" had thrown her overboard to escape in a fast-moving boat.
The orphans’ appeal: "We are abandoned, we want help"
Anniversary of the association
TIRANË - "We feel abandoned, so we are asking for support from our state." This is the appeal that was issued by all Albanian orphans, who had gathered on Saturday to celebrate the 4th anniversary of the creation of their association. They were dissatisfied and burdened with worries, lonely, desperate about their unfortunate fate. All these gloomy feelings were brought to the Palace of Congresses by dozens of parentless young people in the form of a cry for help - addressed to the government - for the fastest possible improvement of their condition.

Albania outside the “Mediterranean”?
“It has been included in the plans for post-communist countries”
The EU ambassador explains the reasons
TIRANË - "Albania has changed[?] the EU objective for Mediterranean countries because it is considered and is consumerose". This is how the EU ambassador in Tirana, Elio Germano, explained our country’s non-inclusion in the Mediterranean plan. "Being a country that has emerged from communist dictatorship, it has been included in the EU Phare project for all countries with this experience," explains Ambassador Germano, even if it may benefit from another project such as the issue of Mediterranean countries.
