Berisha

"No lawsuits or court proceedings against journalists" TIRANA - "For journalists, no more criminal proceedings for recording." This is what President Berisha said, extending his appeal to journalists as far as Iran, calling for the avoidance of court confrontations with members of the press. In an interview given to 'Voice of America', Berisha recommended to his officials a more tolerant attitude toward journalists, even when they make mistakes. "A moral condemnation through a rebuttal for disinformation or deception would be more normal than a criminal proceeding in court." Even earlier yesterday, the President became a defender of the press and of journalists themselves, giving advice to many "jealous" officials who see any straightforward, no-nonsense contact with media representatives only in the halls of Justice: police stations, prosecutors' offices and courts. Journalists make mistakes: often because of their own fault, often because of the fault of those officials who retreat, hidden away in their offices and shut their drawers when they should answer. Nevertheless, it is normal that if journalists are held to account for what they write, but always within the rules - the court is not the solution when one does not know the truth - first respecting ourselves and second the institutions, and not dët[e?]. President Berisha has also specifically seen what appears to be an example of failure with the editor-in-chief of 'Akues', while his current position against trials - which would not be news to any official - is another push toward a free press, toward courage in an era for journalists themselves.

This is why Alia accepted the Presidential Council

MILITARY COUP Godo speaks MILITARY COUP Godo speaks This is why Alia accepted the Presidential Council TIRANA - "Ramiz Alia accepted the Presidential Council under pressure from public opinion." Republican leader Sabri Godo sheds more light on the "mystery" of 1991 - the events had unfolded at the United School - the events had made the country more ... But he refutes the statements of Abdi Baleta, who, only one day earlier, had cast a shadow of doubt over a link between the military coup and the Chairman of the PP himself. "The ideator of the creation of the Presidential Council was Alia." Sabri Godo On page 3

"Djemtë e Detit" at the top of Albanian music trends

MUSIC Lezhë musicians, winners of the rock festival MUSIC Lezhë musicians, winners of the rock festival "Djemtë e Detit" at the top of Albanian music trends TIRANA - "Djemtë e detit" at the top of modern music trends. The second Albanian rock festival registered broad participation from groups and works in the genre, among the most appreciated on today’s youth stages. The largest competition held in the capital’s town with the triumph of the roundabouts, but also with awards that were new and had not been recorded a year earlier. The dignified performance of the young musicians from Lezhë, "Notimi", "Djemtë e detit", was wonderful, even though with "metal" instruments and the end of the biggest annual competition for Albanian groups. They took to the stage on Friday for the contest - they had already been present at the opening festival’s welcome concert. "Djemtë e detit" arrived first at the finish line, where they were "welcomed" by Aleksandër Çoka, Markeljan Kapedani and other members of the jury, perhaps the newest line-up of annual competitions with our stages. Among the thirteen selected groups, out of around thirty-eight submitted, the round-style currents triumphed, even though Tirana had dominated with a full eight participants. The festival won by the Lezhë musicians was also very close to the Elbasan group "Akulli i vjetër". The main moment of the competition had the final pentagrams won by the "Albanian" groups, which had the boys and the mindset of facing one another. Between death and pop, hard rock and heavy metal, the best harmonization triumphed, perhaps also due to the greater merits of the existence of the group "Djemtë e detit". A week of competition, at the International Center of Culture, was nevertheless marked by the absence of some well-known names, among them last year’s winners "Thunder Way". At the very last moment, the first participants here also arrived, completing the nationwide picture of the festival. 8-ym "Djemtë e detit"
