In Parliament "Consumer Protection Law" TIRANA - You want to buy something? You can only do so within a set time; otherwise all shops are closed. Soon every citizen will have to work within a fixed schedule. Otherwise there will be strict fines. This is what the draft law on consumer protection, to be examined in Parliament tomorrow, provides. The backbone of this draft is the pre-legal protection afforded to the Albanian consumer, both in health and economic terms. Kalakulla reacts in Parliament Again, the problems of agricultural land are causing debate in Parliament. Yesterday, in its regular meeting, the Agriculture and Food Committee discussed the draft law on transferring land from use to ownership Petrit Kalakulla, the representative of the right wing on this committee, strongly opposed the project for two reasons: "it does not complete the programme of the Democratic Party itself, and with the approval of this law the hope of former owners for real compensation must be definitively ended". In other countries this is nothing new anymore, in fact it has its own ten-year history; in Albania no one had yet thought of dressing taxis in the same uniform. After the first attempts, still unsuccessful, in the city of Korça, now it is Elbasan’s turn to be painted on Friday with this new "capitalist" trend. It was the Municipal Council that decided on the new "fashion", although it may be constrained by the common color of Elbasan’s taxis. Taxis with colors? "That is no longer fashionable. Very soon all the taxis in the city of Elbasan will wear the same uniform, in one color. Now whoever wants to work as a taxi driver can register his car." But that is not all. In the taxi decision there will no longer be any difference in colors. All cars will have one color. The proposal, quite strange in the context of the problems discussed during yesterday’s meeting of the Municipal Council of the city of Elbasan. But it has not yet been decided what the color of the taxis will be. According to the councillors, this should be the municipality’s competence. Thus the fate of officially coloring the city’s taxis will be in the hands of the Mayor, Emin Haxhinademi. He will have in his hands the color of this special means of transport. If Haxhinademi decides on yellow, Elbasan will be the first Albanian city where the "Yellow taxi" will appear.
