The most likely hypothesis is revenge connected with Krashta’s professional activity, which is enjoying great popularity with his Saturday-night program “12 in Hollywood”. The television union reacted immediately, distributing a strongly worded protest statement last night. On page 8

The millionaire’s fate: unaware of his fortune

The unusual story of the anonymous “Totofutbol” winner Ten thousand dollars await their owner The unusual story of the anonymous “Totofutbol” winner The millionaire’s fate: unaware of his fortune Ten thousand dollars await their owner EDMOND LAÇI TIRANA - To be a millionaire without knowing it. Since 4:45 p.m. last Sunday, the fortune of an anonymous Albanian has suddenly increased by more than 10,000 dollars. But the lucky man from the Albanian capital was lucky only in the sense that he got all 13 Totofutbol results right, 30. Yet he has still to claim his winnings, even though he was the “king” of that day. “Usually, winners—even when the sums are much smaller—come in person to collect their money,” Flobenc Di-laterat, director of the Sports Lotteries Center, tells the Albanian Newspaper. “The 10,000-dollar protagonist, who still does not know that he has won, is undoubtedly the rarest case in the five-year history of ‘Totofutbol’ in Albania.” And so, although some time has passed, the man who won 10,000 dollars still has not found out. Many other people who believe in “Totofutbol” will be surprised to hear that the ticket was bought for only 0254357, which could have brought in... and 3 months, because afterwards they are postponed so well with everything.

Ten people arrested in fuel trafficking operation

Malësia e Madhe 35,000 liters of diesel and 7 trucks seized on the shores of Lake Shkodër Malësia e Madhe Ten people arrested in fuel trafficking operation 35,000 liters of diesel and 7 trucks seized on the shores of Lake Shkodër MALËSI E MADHE - A heavy blow against fuel smuggling in Malësia e Zë. On Friday evening, following a major operation, the Malësia e Madhe police arrested 10 people along the Lake Shkodër area who were organizing a diesel fuel shipment. Along with them, 35,000 liters of fuel and 7 trucks were seized; the black liquid was being unloaded from the trucks to be taken across the border. The police raid took place in the village of Shegan, very close to the lakeshore. All seven trucks were loaded with barrels or small tanks modified onto trailers. They were found at the water’s edge while a thick motor-pump hose was drawing up the fuel to pour it into tanker boats waiting on the shore. The police arrested the 10 people at the scene, who were engaged at that moment in unloading the vehicles. Criminal proceedings were immediately opened against them. However, as of yesterday, the names of all those arrested remained anonymous. According to Qemal Dragoshi, the Prosecutor of Malësia e Madhe, “the names are covered by the secrecy of the investigation,” since the seized documents and vehicles had not yet reached the Prosecutor’s Office. For now, the most certain information is the charge against all those arrested: “illegal fuel trafficking”. The latest police operation appears to be one of the most complex carried out against fuel trafficking on Lake Shkodër. Nevertheless, the operation mentioned above was not unprecedented; there had also been one on Saturday evening. From the 25th to the 27th alone, 13 people were prosecuted for fuel smuggling. These measures are among the first operations carried out immediately after the drastic changes made at the Malësia e Madhe Police Commissariat last week. In addition to the police chief’s dismissal, all management positions were filled with specialists from Tirana, replacing the previous command staff. Amandi Mero Ylli Pata

They robbed refugees; police arrest gang of thieves

Korçë, they were 6 young men KORÇË - Another blow for Albanian refugees. As they tried to cross the border into Greece, they fell victim to a gang of robbers. There were 6 young men, including teenagers, all from Mamurras, who—as had happened several months earlier when thieves targeting emigrants had used toy revolvers—this time attacked with real weapons: shotguns and knives. But after robbing several groups of refugees, the bandits fell into a police trap; they have now been detained and sent to Ersekë prison. The shocking incident took place the day before yesterday near Kapshticë, where numerous groups of Albanians were passing to the left of the customs post to cross illegally into Greece. After robbing several refugees, the gang attacked 6 people who were very close to the border. As soon as they heard... the Albanian woman M.T., from Papër in Elbasan, aged 35 and a mother of four, who was going to Greece for the umpteenth time, said: “When I was crossing the border, a man stopped in front of me with a gun in his hand and asked me for money. I had only 9,000 drachmas, which I had hidden, but he forcibly took my gold,” the woman recounted. “Then he attacked me and wanted to rape me. I was saved and gave him 9,000 drachmas.” Most of the Albanians were from Fier. One of them, who had also taken the money from the others—about 120,000 drachmas—had got away by climbing onto a truck and disappearing into a ditch with a cart. The young robbers did not confess. “They wanted to find out,” one of them had reportedly said. The 35-year-old woman, left behind, screamed and ran out onto the road; an ambulance came. The police arrived and intervened immediately. As stated, the case is before the court in Ersekë.
