4 sailors in custody. “Lealdo” seized DURRËS - An arrest at sea. Mysterious incident Serbian shells over Kosovo: homes damaged

TIRANA - Shells over Kosovo. On Tuesday afternoon, for at least 90 minutes, dozens of mortar shells flew from the Serbian army barracks in Ferizaj and exploded over a neighborhood in the city. Fortunately—as the Kosovo Information Center also reports—the incident caused no casualties, only extensive material damage. This time, however, the episode did not cause tensions among the Albanian civilian population, not even when Serbian soldiers and police arrived several hours earlier to collect the shells. Meanwhile, the situation in Kosovo is under the control of international peacekeeping forces, which, according to this source, have arrived in the troubled province and have come from Croatia to stations on the railway lines serving Kosovo's main cities. “Beware of counterfeit banknotes: here are the signs”

Bank warning: counterfeit 200- and 500-lekë notes BANK OF ALBANIA TWO HUNDRED LEKË 200 TIRANA - “Citizens, beware of counterfeit banknotes”: this was the appeal issued by the Albanian Bank yesterday through mass-information leaflets. According to the Bank, 5,000-lekë and 2,000-lekë banknotes have been put into circulation, and various citizens have fallen victim to them. The Bank aims to inform citizens by publicizing the features and characteristics used by the counterfeiters. “The counterfeit banknotes were made using photocopying and lack the security features,” the Bank said, distinguishing them from genuine banknotes. The paper used is photocopy paper and has neither a security thread nor a watermark, nor the State Bank's initials incorporated into the design of the genuine banknote. The explanation of the color feature on genuine banknotes—which changes color when viewed from different angles—does not apply to the counterfeit ones: “they do not change color.” 200-lekë banknote, Bank of Albania
