“2 April”: investigators seek Gramoz Ruçi

Prosecutors in Tirana will question the PS deputy After the new accusations, the former Minister of the Interior will have to answer for the killings in Shkodër TIRANA - Yesterday Gramoz Ruçi came to the Prosecutor’s Office. A summons signed by the head of the body himself, Adnan Xholi, has ordered the Socialist deputy to appear soon in connection with the events of “2 April” in Shkodër, at a time when Ruçi was serving as Minister of the Interior. The tragic event has remained a mystery as to how it was carried out, and why several court hearings were held and several former local officials were convicted, as well as Ruçi’s own deputy. On several occasions the Secretary General of the PS himself has been accused in various newspapers as a direct participant in this massacre, accusations that he has strongly rejected as unfounded and defamatory. Fake drinks flood the market

TIRANA - As the saying goes, drink does not happen by deceit. Yet this has happened, as Albanian consumers have been deceived for almost the whole year with fake drinks, wine or raki. Not at all. And although the season for wine has almost ended, alarms are being sounded from the Ministry of Agriculture about the fake drinks that have “betrayed” it. What now? The Directorate of Food Inspection and Quality, in a meeting with specialists in the field from all districts of the country, called urgently, denounced the presence of traders selling counterfeit wines and rakis. Afterwards, harsh measures were also proposed, and those responsible for control were proposed for dismissal from their posts, having been warned in advance of many more cases. Korçë He had been drinking alcohol: dies in the street

KORCE - Victim of alcohol. He had drunk too much and his uncontrolled drunken state seems to have led him to one of the many places in the city of Korçë. He was 53-year-old Shtjefën Lipa, who, having finally slumped behind the chairs of a café, was found by chance around 8:00 p.m. yesterday by a police patrol passing nearby. For the next four hours the doctors tried to bring him back to life. In the early hours of the morning, they found that he had once again slipped from the hands of the two nurse and police officers, and, without his face having turned noticeably pale, had set off for home. But things did not happen as expected. The 53-year-old Shtjefën Lipa, an hour earlier lying warm and outside, could not stand on his feet, held back by alcohol. Unable to reach near his home, Lipa, worn down and exhausted in struggle, felt the pain of a body that was very far from his house. But he would never again have the chance to “stagger” and to protect himself by getting up. That was the end. From the large amount of alcohol consumed the previous evening, as well as from what had accumulated over time, Lipa died. It was found by the accidental arrival of three policemen, making it possible to locate the 53-year-old, whom the on-duty doctors had initially thought was merely in a deep sleep from drink. But after the vehicle stopped, they found that he had remained still. In any case, he was taken to the city hospital, and the autopsy of the victim states: death from excessive doses of alcohol. Pëllumbi’s statement: a storm between the PS and the PD

After the meeting with the European left. Shehu: “A provocative expression” Pëllumbi’s statement: a storm between the PS and the PD Will we clash in the street? Socialists deny it TIRANA - The two largest parties in the country do not seem to intend to soften their stance toward each other even before delegations from European political organizations. In yesterday’s meetings with representatives of the European Socialist Party, Vallin Anderson, Rolf and Plantin, leaders of the PD and PS did not stop trading many political barbs. In fact, the “battle” flared up even more sharply after the official chancery informed that a statement by Pëllumbi to the representatives of the PES had been received late yesterday evening. Sex scissors on TV

Guidance from television executives on erotic scenes Sex scissors on TV Now foreign films are more “clean” More caution in the broadcasting of Albanian television’s small screen TIRANA - The television small screen is starting to be “cleaned up.” At least on its only station, Albanian viewers will from now on find it difficult to see bold erotic scenes, and as for pornographic ones, that is completely out of the question. Despite the wish of the executives, TSH has also instructed those responsible for foreign films to be careful with the images broadcast from Tirana. The center, then, will begin “editing” precisely when this kind of film is ideological, but for moral reasons. On page 7
