Investigators in Bënçë: Nano is questioned
The socialist leader will answer for the events of "2 April"
Today Fatos Nano will testify in the “2 April” case. A team of prosecutors will travel to Bënçë, where the socialist leader is serving his prison sentence, to question him as a witness in the well-known Shkodër case.
Thus, after Haxhiati and Ruçi, former Prime Minister Nano will also be questioned as a witness. This time the witness will not appear at the Prosecutor’s Office; instead, the prosecutors will go to him

BERISHA in Israel: kibbutzim and peace
TIRANA - Albania will be the most favored nation in relations with Israel. This was decided yesterday during President Sali Berisha’s visit to Israel. The signing of two agreements in the economic field will create facilities for Albanian training in the fields of agriculture, school equipment and tourism. During the meeting Berisha had with Prime Minister Perez, the Albanian President called on Israeli businessmen to invest in our country.

The court sentences to death
The money changer’s murder: 2 death sentences
But the agreement with the EC prevents the execution
TIRANA - Two of the killers of the money changer Paloli are sentenced to death. The capital punishment verdict was handed down yesterday by the Tirana Court. “Pali Gjergji death sentence - execution by firing squad, Altin Koçi death sentence - execution by firing squad, Gjergji Shtuni 25 years in prison and Rizan Veliu imprisonment.” This was the court’s decision, delivered amid the tears of Paloli’s family members. Thus, after a long pause, Albanian justice, in the name of the law, returns once again to death sentences.

Expelled from school, they sue the rectorate
TIRANA - Medical students in court. “We have been expelled from school without justification, so we are asking to be allowed back into our seats.” Doctors are asking for two students from the Faculty of Medicine in Tirana have turned to the court today, asking to be allowed back into the lecture halls. The rectorate’s decision to expel the two fourth-year students was taken a month earlier and was linked to an incident between two professors and a student during a recent exam. According to the students, the regulations provide that decisions in such cases must be taken within two months, whereas the rectorate acted, in their view, outside the deadline. This led the two medical students, who are now in their third year of schooling, to turn to the exam authorities today, even though they were outside the faculty doors. “I am turning to the court with the hope that it will declare the rectorate’s decision to suspend classes unlawful,” says student M. Perhaps for the first time the court will express itself and decide on administrative matters affecting students in university faculties with the largest number of students in the city. Although the students had been expelled from the faculty, their duties as medical students have led them to bring the problem to court

Korçë, the Chairman of the Council dismissed
Accused of violations and abuses
The firm order came from the presidency. The prefect communicates the decision, considered one of the harshest measures against those holding the highest posts in the southeastern city
KORÇË - Since yesterday, Pavllo Llapaza, Chairman of the District Council of Korçë, will belong to the assistance service. A sudden decision, announced by the President of the Republic, has forced Llapaza - who had been at the head of the Council for some time - to “leave” his office, being replaced amid accusations of serious violations and abuses. After a wave of major changes in the prefecture and in the city directorates of Korçë, the removal of the head of the Council is considered one of the harshest measures against those currently holding leadership positions in the southeastern city.

Tirana: the “walls” insult the government
Illegal slogans against Berisha
TIRANA - Many passers-by on “Kavajës”, “Durrësit” streets or in “Avni Rustemi” square in the capital saw yesterday morning with curiosity a number of slogans written in red paint by an invisible hand on the walls of buildings and shops. And still no one has managed to explain whose hand it was that, in the late hours of the night, wrote in red paint slogans of “down with” against the President of the Republic and “hurrah” for the opposition.

Two lives between two centuries
The rare story of a couple who have crossed three centuries. The memories and life of the elderly from Mati
Together for 83 years in a row
MAT - They have spent 83 years together beneath their lands, on a hill that “raises its head” in the village of Rrem-bazë, by Lake Ulza. They are the oldest couple in Albania. Gjatë and Gjela Gjini, and certainly with the longest married life.

Boat-taxis are springing up on Ulza Lake
Set schedules for the “new transport”
The service was created by farmers from Mati and Mirdita
MAT - Boat-taxis are being born. It is the latest service, created spontaneously in the villages of Mati and Mirdita, across Lake Ulza. These are the means of transport for people, food and agricultural products, “fit” for cars or carts. The boat-taxis are small and quickly carry 8 people and operate on fixed schedules. Built by villagers on the lake shore linked to this, especially after the torrential rains of December, they remain the only connection between these areas. Thus the latest service was created, which has not been operating for 7 days, and the villagers who found themselves on the shores of Lake Ulza were almost left on their own; the inhabitants were forced to walk miles on foot, carrying what they needed to cross to the other side of the lake. In any case, only for a short time, this long land journey entered through the forest, while some well-linked bridges over the lakes replaced the taxi
