Dies while saving her daughter

PUKE — She dies while saving her daughter. A terrible event that has turned into a tragedy not only for the Baku family, but also for that of the driver who caused the accident. The terrible accident occurred on the Pukë–Shkodër road, at a place called Gegjan. The incident could have been even worse had Gjin Tafa, 30, not shown his skills as a driver, as a 4-year-old girl came out in front of the car he was starting to drive. To save the child, he swerved sharply, taking the life of the little girl’s mother, Liza Baku. But for the driver, this was more than a killing, because he is the child’s kumara—the child who had come out in front of his car. Now, for Tafa, the weight of shame is heavier than that of the terrible incident, which happened to him unintentionally.

Athens is “warmer” Athens is “warmer.” Stefanopulos comes to Tirana on March 21. The date of the Greek President’s visit to Albania has been set. Hope for a major turning point between the two countries. TIRANA — The Arvanite origins of Greece’s foreign minister, Teodoros Pangalos, seem to have served as a positive catalyst in relations between Greece and Albania. Pangalos has not yet completed a month in Greece’s highest diplomatic office, and all signs point to an impressive thaw in Athens–Tirana relations. On page 3.

“He didn’t go to the army in the name of God”

Berat, six months in prison for the young man . “He didn’t go to the army in the name of God.” BERAT — God.” For the umpteenth time, he has stood by this biblical conviction before the judges. Fully resolute, using his arguments—like those of a Jehovah’s Witness—he has appeared in court for the second time. The trial of 20-year-old Llambi Mile has not gone unnoticed. In the first ruling, the young man was sentenced only to a fine of 10,000 lek, which he has already paid. But that was not enough. Mile is once again before the people of justice. The trial is being held in the main courtroom of the Berat Court, in the presence of his parents and 15 Jehovah’s Witness brothers, while another 15 were outside the doors. “Whatever decision you make about me, I will never go to the army. I have sworn to defend God’s laws.” So spoke the ardent believer, while the panel of judges withdrew to deliberate on its decision, which was not long in coming: arrest in the courtroom and six months in prison. But the 20-year-old’s reaction was also completely calm: “I accept it gladly; I have been invited into the kingdom of God.” After he left to say goodbye to his parents and friends, the iron handcuffs were put on Miles, and he was taken to prison. Mile was taken to prison. In the name of God.
