TIRANA - Candidates excluded by the Commission have thoroughly thrown the future parliamentarians into confusion. After the Verification Commission for Figures’ “no,” yesterday the Court of Cassation gave a negative response to all those who had requested a review of the decision. Meanwhile, two PAD MPs will receive their answer on Thursday. All the candidates have asked to see the “compromising” material that has kept them out of politics.

Was he killed during the bombings?
MOSCOW - Mystery has shrouded the physical whereabouts of the Chechen separatist leader. The leader of the Chechen fighters, Gjokar Dudajev, gave conflicting information about Dudajev’s fate yesterday evening. Thus, his death in a bombing was first announced and later denied.
“Dudajev is dead, there is no doubt.” This was stated by Khodoj-Akhmed Iarikhanov, a person close to the Chechen president, while the personal secretary of the Chechen leader denied the report.

Fidel Castro from Berat seeks a bride in Sarandë
He deceives a girl using the leader’s name
TIRANA - “Fidel Castro is getting married in Sarandë.” But later he had sold his “bride” in Greece and is now wanted by the police. Records of fraud continue to be set. Even the name of Cuba’s leader, Fidel Castro, has not escaped the notice of masters of this art.
A villager from Berat, in order to deceive a girl from Sarandë, had presented himself at her home as an honourable man seeking to marry her. “My name is Fidel Castro,” he had said, giving her his home address as “proof.” After the “engagement,” he took the bride away, but never brought her back. After this, the girl’s father went to the home of the in-laws. The man did indeed have a son, whom he had turned into an “Ilan” through his scams, but they called him Fidel e Kastro. Meanwhile, when Castro arrived, he had never even heard of him. To find him, a notice was sent to the Greek television stations “Star.” After the girl’s photo was shown on “Star,” the first call came from a Greek… The girl had suffered the same fate as many victims of such scams.
