Meta: “Let us break away from the PPSH”

INTERVIEW / The Socialist deputy chairman calls for a deep renewal of the party Meta: “Let us break away from the PPSH” “I hope Nano does not light the fuses of incidents” TIRANA - Ilir Meta, deputy chairman of the Socialist Party, has declared that “the DP has made mistakes and scandals, but as a party we must understand that if we want to return to power, we must not use the same forms and methods of the dictatorship of the proletariat.” Meta also stated that “the party must achieve a clear and final break with the PPSH. I think this is the only way to win a reformed political power in Albania.” Asked about the possibility of violence erupting at the beginning of September, Meta says that he “hopes that by then the leadership of the PS will have become emancipated and properly aware” and that “the party base is not made up of the damned and the spiteful from the purges, but of rational intellectuals and citizens.” TIRANA - Ilir Meta also declared that “the PS needs a detailed analysis of its political functioning so far and of some important decisions that have had connotations of its closing in on itself and of strengthening anti-democratic mechanisms.” Speaking about the “rumors” of Fatos Nano’s return to the post of party chairman at its upcoming Congress, Meta says that “much more important for the present is to focus on preparing our alternative and on exploiting the weaknesses of the right-wing government.” Page title
