Azem Hajdari, ready to split with the PD

Yesterday the National Council of the Trade Unions met, Xheka: “The Hajdari issue is not closed” Azem Hajdari, ready to split with the PD A new “attack” at the BSPSH headquarters. Police intervene Hajdari: “If the upcoming congress is placed under the control of the trade unions, it will end up in piles of coins” Xheka: “I am not bothered by the unions’ blackmail, I do not need publicity” TIRANA - Although yesterday the activities of the National Council of BSPSH were held, including the ceremony in which the former chairman of this association, Kastriot Muço, handed over his post to Gezim Kalasë, it seems that the protagonists of the debate unfolding in this union, Azem Hajdari and Gezim Xheka, do not intend to leave this workplace in peace. On the contrary, the greatest tension appeared precisely during yesterday’s day. Law-enforcement forces and private security services intervened yesterday in the premises of the BSPSH headquarters after several people had entered the press office and were trying to force their way in. All these developments were linked to the presence at the head of this trade-union association’s leadership of the Democratic MP Azem Hajdari, who demands that its congress be held as soon as possible. Regarding this development, the chairman of this association, Gezim Xheka, reacted again, stating that publicity and pressure do not bother him. Later, another reaction came from Azem Hajdari, according to whom, if the return congress is imposed under the trade unions’ leadership, it will end up in piles of coins. See the article on page 2

The capital, a night with the inhabitants of darkness

SPECIAL The capital, a night with the inhabitants of darkness TIRANA - Like all nights in the capital, the central police station switchboard has surely been bombarded by calls for help. The cup of poison surely does not spill only for the few. The most striking examples? the anxious suffering, the affairs, the calming of houses where there is no electricity, houses without bread, small children and the elderly, - all the challenges that make the night more of an adversary than a friend. In the unlit neighborhoods, among poor people and young people without shelter, the night reveals another face of Tirana. More on page 11 On page 11 A street in Tirana

“We do not bring foreign brides into our homes”

Tirana, parents refuse their sons’ marriages TIRANA - Although Albanians can now easily find their “life partner” abroad, it seems that the difference between village and city, ignorance and civilization, continues to divide part of public opinion. For young couples, including those who meet abroad, the biggest obstacle seems to remain acceptance by the boy’s family. Foreign loyalty? Stereotypes about “foreign brides” remain strong. Young people face resistance, especially when it comes to girls from other countries or with different customs. Full material on page 6.
