Her brother

FIER - Another family tragedy rooted in the story of a “forbidden love”. FIER - love”. A girl dies, stabbed in a fit of her brother’s rage—a rage that also sends the girl’s boyfriend to hospital, wounded by the same hand. Before long, the enraged brother himself ends up wounded in hospital after, this time, turning his hand against himself. It was a very small family for such a great tragedy: only the mother and two children, a 22-year-old son and a 16-year-old daughter. But suddenly a love story shakes it to its foundations. The girl has fallen in love with a young man, A.B., 24, from Rrëshen. Neither of them knew that by falling in love they were drinking the “elixir” of death. Neither the girl’s family nor the boy’s family approved of such a relationship. But the two young people could not subdue their feelings before the family “authorities”. It was a rebellion that would cost them dearly. The girl brought her boyfriend into her home, making him a member of the household “against the wishes of her mother and brother”—a fait accompli. Meanwhile, the girl’s brother, recently returned from emigration, continued to insist firmly against the engagement. And on Wednesday, around 10 at night, he finds in the house the young man his sister loved. Blinded by rage, he lunges at him and, during the argument, stabs him. The girl rushes between them, but the armed hand strikes her too, fatally. She dies, while her boyfriend ends up in hospital. Meanwhile, the cruel brother goes to a friend’s house. But the burden of the crime he has committed seems to have overwhelmed him. A few hours later he tried to kill himself by jumping from the fourth floor of the building, and ended up seriously injured in hospital.
