From the student strike in Vlorë
VLORË - A bunch of flowers placed by a uniformed police officer on the steps of the University of Vlorë has symbolized the support given to the hunger strikers by law-enforcement personnel as well. The situation in Vlorë was very tense yesterday too—the protests have entered their 21st day, while the hunger strike is on its sixth day. Doctors have required ten students to end their strike and receive more specialized care in hospital.

Godo threatens: [unclear] the Assembly
“Berisha’s appointment in accordance with the Constitution”
TRANE-PR gatit përbrak-tisur Kuvendin? A meeting of the Party Presidium has set the conditions for the party to remain in or leave the Assembly. The institution of the President to be elected after a new constitution, and Parliament to deal urgently with the student strike in Vlorë. These are the conditions voted on unanimously by the leadership, which seem likely to take PR out of Parliament soon. The Republicans’ latest political positioning appears set to create a new arrangement on the political chessboard in the days ahead. Yesterday Godo also declared that they would cooperate in Parliament with the “monacionistët” of PD, even if they do not leave PD. It is not known how far this common trench between the Republican wing and the blue wing of the Democrats will go, but Godo seems to have a clear idea of the arrangement to be used in the coming days. Yesterday, the departure of Arben Babameto as Secretary General of the Ministry of Transport also reached the Republican camp, while Arian Madhi has chosen not to obey PR’s orders following its departure from the coalition.

Italian Mafia Controls Trafficking
Rome: “Albanians linked to Sacra Corona”
From Italy, a shocking report: “Organized clandestine movement”
TRANE — The Italian Mafia cooperates with the Albanian Mafia, and all clandestine trafficking is controlled by criminal organizations.” The claim came yesterday from Rome, where a report by Conmmercio concerning clandestine migrants entering Italy was made public in the morning. Albanians have been considered the key to this trafficking, and our shores have been assessed as the biggest springboard for reaching Italy. “Not only Albanians, but any foreigner who comes to us can very easily set off from Albania,” the report says, which also provides figures on Albanian clandestine migrants. A connection with Sacra Corona Unita — the mafia organization of Naples — and other criminal groups was uncovered in yesterday’s file. According to it, Albanian traffickers operate with the permission of these organizations, with which they also cooperate powerfully. Indeed, the Albanian groups appear to have gained autonomy as well. The report also says that Albanians have become a powerful clan in several Italian cities, where they control various types of illegal trafficking, especially prostitution.
