Parties meet in government. Once again there are calls for changes to the law: zones, lists, commissions
TIRANA - The pre-election situation, meanwhile, is becoming increasingly tense politically. The foreign press and news stations report that Albania is approaching the moment of a compromise that would make it possible for the state to function and for the elections of 29 June to be held. Prime Minister Fino holds another meeting with President Berisha, while at the government meeting representatives of the parties raise new issues regarding the electoral law and the commissions. Also in the spotlight have been the statements by the US and Italy concerning the troops and the political process. The situation remains heated in the districts as well. These movements and developments are reflected in the inside pages of the issue.

REFORM | TO THE GUARD'S LOYALTY
TIRANA - The discussion erupted with the request of the Socialist leader Fatos Nano, that before meeting Fino-Berisha there should be a clear division of roles at the electoral reform table and in the government's relationship with the President. The call from “his own” loyal men has shifted the weight of the debate from words to political steps. In government, the allies have demanded guarantees for participation in the process and for respect for agreements. At the Presidency, the Fino-Berisha meeting has been seen as an attempt to keep developments under control.

Was Sudja a pyramid scheme?
TIRANA - An improvised rally with shouts of “Suden, Suden” in front of the court building has brought together hundreds of creditors demanding their lost money. People claim that without getting their money back they will not go to the polls. Some of those present also connect their anger with the question of whether the company “Sudja” was really a pyramid scheme.
