Mejdani, as President should be

The PS candidate for the top office envisions the “new leader” "To be above parties, to respect human rights and impartiality" INTERVIEW / Eight standards of the socialist VT, “I still cannot speak as head of state” Mejdani, as President should be The PS candidate for the top office envisions the “new leader” “To be above parties, to respect human rights and impartiality” TIRANA - The future president must respect the unity of the nation without prejudice and serve as a stabilizing factor. And he must remain unmotivated, safeguard the state and not anger the people. These are some of the features of the future president that yesterday were defined by the candidate of the Socialist Party for the post of head of the Albanian state, Rexhep Mejdani. Asked what would happen to the fate of the position of party chairman if he were to win Sunday’s vote in Parliament, Mejdani replied: “I think I will be president, not of the party. This would mean a change in the role of his figure from that of party leader.” After being elected in the coming days in Parliament, the socialist candidate states in most cases that he is ready to rigorously respect the principles of the state and to create stable institutions.
