TIRANA - The Albanian government will exempt clergy of all faiths and university services from VAT. The legal package of amendments was presented yesterday for discussion in parliament. Finance Minister Arben Malaj said it is thought that some goods may replace VAT with a fixed tax. TIRANA - The Minister of Agriculture and Food, Fatos Çela, has signed the permit for the creditors of the firm ‘Sudja’ to hold a peaceful march, but with some restrictions. According to several hundred creditors, the gathering must be peaceful and non-political, while the route through which the affected people will pass is not the one they proposed, but another one. The correspondence between the creditors’ committee and the Ministry of Interior, as one of the organizers states, will be concluded today. “We are not asking anything from anyone, we are asking for justice,” one of the organizers of the gathering told “Gazeta Shqiptare”. “If our association deems it reasonable, it will organize a hunger strike on Wednesday. We are not with politics,” he said. Regarding the new government, they state that they still do not clearly know its position toward those responsible for the loss of their money. In a letter from the chairwoman of the creditors’ association, Frino [ ? ], a meeting has been requested by the disappointed people. The association replies: O.K. but without Malaj.
