A Catholic priest comes to Rama’s aid

In the article, even Zef Pllumi is included among 7 intellectuals! A Catholic priest comes to Rama’s aid Here is how the Ministry of Culture is changing "...a revolution in culture?" asks "Koha Jone". The thrust of this piece seems to be built on rhetorical questions. "Will there finally be a revival in the Ministry of Culture? Will folk dance be saved from African rhythms, painting from postmodern repainting, sculpture from wooden staircases, or painting from its own delirious painter?". Below, the newspaper defends these "fourths" and undertakes that only Zef Pllumi "will be at the proper level to represent the country with the standards of this institution". Minister of Culture

Nano’s statement sparks controversy

PRICE OF FREEDOM Codo: He served the Serbs Nano’s statement sparks controversy Gjynushi: If the KLA grows, the flight of the moderates falls NAPOLON ROSHI The latest statement by Socialist Party chairman Fatos Nano that the KLA is a terrorist organization has prompted a reaction from the editor of the newspaper "Rilindja", Baton Haxhiu, who is in Tirana. Calling Nano’s stance anti-national, Haxhiu said that he should publicly apologize to all Albanians. The chairman of the PSD, Skender Gjinushi, yesterday described Nano’s position as wrong, since in his view the KLA is a political force with influence in Kosovo and its factor must be taken into consideration. Considering the more moderate figures in Kosovo, Gjinushi said he fears a further strengthening of the KLA. He added that if the KLA were to rise to power, in a certain way Serbia would once again enter the game. In order to avoid this, Gjinushi said that the more moderate figures in Kosovo should be supported. According to him, so that Albanians do not lose ground, it is likely that the struggle for power in Kosovo will continue until a political clash. The chairman of the PAA, Agron Duka, described Nano’s statement on the KLA as worrying. Since he is the chairman of a party in coalition with the PS, Duka said Nano’s stance on the KLA is incomprehensible, although it fits within socialist policy of saying no to war in Kosovo. Calling Nano’s statement unreasonable, the chairman of the PBK, Idajet Beqiri, emphasized that no one had ever made such a statement before. He said that an invitation for the KLA to be represented at the Vienna meeting would increase its role. In Kosovo, Nano’s stance prompted immediate reactions. The editor of the newspaper "Rilindja", Baton Haxhiu, said that through his position toward the KLA Nano has served Serbian policy in Kosovo. Quoting yesterday’s article in "Rilindja", Haxhiu added that Albanians from Albania have helped the KLA more than the political leaders of Pristina. According to him, such a statement would lead to the continuation of the conflict. Reacting by phone on TV KLAN, Haxhiu said that Nano should apologize. LPK members in Tirana, while standing in silence in front of the KLA center in Tirana, said they felt offended and betrayed. The chairman of the Christian Democratic Party of Albania, Mark Dashi, said that with his stance Nano has done a favor to the Serbian regime. Also yesterday, the Secretary General of Balli Kombetar Demokrat, Artur Roshi, said that Nano’s position on the KLA and the government’s equating it with terrorism serves only the latter. In his statement, Roshi stressed that the KLA is a natural reaction of all Albanians.
