Berisha makes Nano’s coffin

Demonstrators in the square come out with the macabre symbol Berisha makes Nano’s coffin The PD leader at the rally: weapons until death Prime minister: We will defeat them with love TIRANA - Emotionally tied to the death of his political opponents, Berisha once again rages at last night’s rally over the arrest of 6 former PD ministers and does the opposite of what he declares. “I have never incited weapons against political opponents,” Berisha said last night. The opposition leader dragged a coffin in front of him with the slogan “Nano in prison” and delivered a speech before the demonstrators in threatening tones. “Weapons until death” — he burst out in the square to the crowds that had come out to protest against the arrest of members of the PDSH leadership. These tones from the Democratic leader, which signal a dangerous political escalation, made the situation in the capital even more unbearable. In a document that senior PD officials call an “opposition platform,” Berisha calls on militants of his party to be ready for an uprising against the government. “Until death, until catastrophe, until victory. This is the rallying cry I give to the soldiers of freedom,” Berisha declared last night. In this same drive to further inflame the political revolt, he ended last night’s rally with a shocking cry: “Nano doesn’t know what is happening with the state, he cannot act as prime minister.” On page 4 The cardboard coffin with Nano’s photo and in front of the prime minister’s office (H. Agolli: The arrests are not only under the criminal article

INTERVIEW / The writer breaks his silence: “Berisha’s words have the color of a bayonet” Agolli: The arrests are not only under the criminal article “If Nano doesn’t know what is happening with the state, he cannot act as prime minister” Dritëro Agolli breaks his silence against the arrests of PD figures. If you speak with Agolli, you will immediately understand that he opposes them. “I consider these arrests illegal,” he says. The great writer goes further and accuses the charges brought against the arrested people of potentially endangering the Socialist Party’s own position. “If Nano has moved toward this policy, then he will destroy for himself the majority in Parliament and the party’s future.” Agolli believes the charges were brought too hastily. He says that “a certain scruple” should be maintained toward people who carry on their backs the weight of a war in history. “It is not very important what happened with the party’s money. More important is that life in the country should have been calmed down,” says Agolli. “Now, for everyone, the political climate has been charged by arresting such people, perhaps even without evidence. As soon as the arrest was made, it had the effect of a bomb.” On page 5

Klosi accuses Mazi: He has misused the money

Pango: “We gathered for the news, the parties are asking for Edi’s removal” Klosi accuses Mazi: He has misused the money TVSH shaken, director’s resignation demanded within the week TIRANA - A storm in the governing presidium of Public Television and state radios. A few hours after the appointment of the Yugoslav journalist to the head of TVSH, Arian Starova confirmed yesterday that he had dismissed the Director General of RTSH, Kozma Dashi, from his post. According to the television press office, “this change will not bring changes in the RTSH staff.” However, the government’s media secretary, Alfred Peza, told Gazeta Shqiptare that the dismissal came because for a long time “money has been circulating in this institution without any control.” “Dashi has misused millions of lekë,” he said. Meanwhile, another development hit TVSH yesterday. Dozens of its employees have demanded the removal of the news director, Edmond Pango. He responds to the situation by saying that the demand for his resignation “comes from journalist Edi Xha.” On page 3
