Yesterday the National Council of the Democratic Party and its opposition allies, in a joint declaration, once again confirmed their decision not to enter parliament, and once again expressed their lack of confidence in the "Nano" government. In their final statement, the right-wing parties call for the creation of a technical government with a limited mandate, which would organize the general parliamentary elections in Albania. In their joint declaration, the Albanian right-wing parties see the creation of a technical government as the only solution to put an end to the political crisis. The National Council of the PD has asked for the technical government to have a 4-month mandate. Throughout yesterday, the National Council of the PD was split into heated debates over its stance toward parliament. Some MPs called for a return to parliament, but only on condition that the socialists give them clear guarantees for their safety. Others called for a complete boycott.
Milo is carrying out an official visit to Brussels, where he is expected to meet senior officials of the European Union and NATO. The foreign minister's visit is regarded as an important test for Albanian diplomacy after the recent political developments in the country. At the center of the talks are expected to be relations with the EU, regional cooperation and the security situation.
