Misha It is said that Tirana will host, for a visit that has already been announced, the Prime Minister of neighboring Greece, Simitis. For several years, Albanian diplomacy has stabilized relations with the Greek PASOK government, but these contacts clearly show that the partisan nature of relations has been overcome by all political forces, both in Greece and in Albania. This makes them more secure and ensures their continuity. It seems that this visit will address the same issues on its agenda that have concerned relations between the two countries, as well as their policies in the region. It is understood that it is taking place at a very different moment. The timing of the visit will be influenced by the Sarajevo Summit, as well as by the resolution of the Kosovo problem under NATO’s five-point plan and UN Security Council Resolution 1244. Therefore, this visit cannot fail to include in its discussions both the issues related to implementing the Stability Pact and the position on establishing democracy in Belgrade, and, in particular, the conditions under which the Kushner administration operates. Debt of 12 million dollars Mustafa Leka, former boss of the “M.Leka” pyramid scheme, has been arrested in Tirana. Acting on an arrest warrant issued by the General Prosecutor’s Office, specialist criminal police officers at the Ministry of Public Order managed, at midday, to put handcuffs on the moneylender who owes Albanians at least 12 million dollars. He had been wanted for a long time, although he was often seen driving around Tirana. On page 7
