By VALENTINA MADANI President of the Republic Bamir Topi has begun a tour of Albania’s cities, where yesterday he stopped in Fier, while today he will travel to Shkodër. From Fier, the head of state reacted yesterday after the debates in Parliament regarding the EU progress report for Albania, which according to him are the clearest proof of why the international community has kept Albania back in the integration process. “Of course my appeal was linked to the moment of the European Commission’s opinion on the issue of whether or not to grant candidate-country status. Unfortunately, this status was rejected again this time. The critical focus of the EC and the critical focus in my position as President were reconfirmed yesterday once more in the events in Parliament.
