Chemical substances also found in girls’ shoes By ESMERALDA KETA Children’s toys for ages 0-3 and clothing for small children coming from China contain dangerous components that can seriously harm their health. The Central Technical Inspectorate, which is tasked with monitoring the market, has carried out several inspections, which have shown that children’s toys are unsafe, while carcinogenic compounds have been found in shoes. These products had also been previously reported in the European Safety System for dangerous products (RAPEX), and the IQT has sent a letter to customs asking them to be careful in their clearance. According to this inspectorate, the problems have been observed in toys for children aged 0-3, such as dolls, toy cars, as well as other plastic toys. “In many retail outlets it was noticed that these toys were not accompanied by the relevant warnings.
