We are more offended, more humiliated and more disappointed than ever.” This is what the victims’ relatives declared yesterday, who for 8 years have continued to seek the missing bodies; they are still seeking accountability and the full clarification of the event, which continues to remain shrouded in mystery. “The tears and pain of mothers and fathers, wives and children, for the people dearest to their hearts who drowned and disappeared in the waters of the Ionian Sea, have been trampled on. Our tears have fallen to the ground and have been trampled by the state itself,” says the chairman of the Association of the January 9 Tragedy, Nikoll Mhillaj. He states that the silence and empty promises of officials to clarify this event are absurd. According to Mhillaj, justice must be done by handcuffing and punishing those responsible...
