Environmental authorities have punished 41 municipalities and various communes in the country for mismanagement of urban waste. According to the chief inspector of the environment, Ilir Bala, with the change in the law on waste management, the fines, which vary from 500 thousand lekë to 1 million new lekë, were not imposed on the institutions, but on the heads of municipalities and communes.
