His lawyer Ibrahim Lahi reminded that his client, Luan Hoxha, in his role as Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, carried out the duties imposed by law, and therefore should be declared innocent of the charge of abuse of office committed in cooperation. According to the lawyer, the prosecution has not managed to prove any specific violation of the law committed by Luan Hoxha, which would make him legally responsible. The prosecution requested a sentence of 8 years in prison for the former general and the deprivation of the right to hold state duties for 10 years.
