This is only one of the messages that the convicted murderer Kastriot Kola sent to the former director of the Shënkoll prison in Lezhë, Valentin Miri, asking him to sign the reward leave after having given the sum of 300 euros. The Tirana Prosecutor’s Office has completed the investigation into the defendant Miri, against whom it has brought charges of “Abuse of office” and “Passive corruption”. The case file of the prosecution body reveals all the corrupt dealings of the former director of the Shënkoll prison, who, in exchange for sums ranging from 10,000 lekë to 300 euros, signed reward leaves for inmates and also allowed the use of mobile phones in cells. In one case, Valentin Miri had taken the money to grant leave to Kastriot Kola, but he could not sign it because the prison doctor did not sign.
