Rama to MPs: The coffers are empty THE GROUP MEETS, NEW APPOINTMENTS DISCUSSED. XHAFAJ-TOÇI ABSENT The Prime Minister informs his own party about the difficult financial situation. MPs to ministers: Make the appointments as soon as possible, we are under pressure from the party base Prime Minister Edi Rama yesterday organized a working lunch with the MPs of the Socialist parliamentary group to “report” on the first appointments made by the government as well as the financial situation in which the country finds itself. The meeting, which lasted about 3 hours, was held away from the capital, in one of the luxury restaurants in Linzë in the Dajt commune, where Prime Minister Rama, together with his ministers, discussed with the MPs the need to support the government’s initiatives in Parliament. Sources from the meeting held behind closed doors told “Gazeta Shqiptare” that during this working lunch, the MPs asked the ministers to complete the appointments as quickly as possible, arguing that pressure is being exerted on them by activists to get jobs in the public administration. According to the same sources, Prime Minister Rama asked the MPs about the dire economic situation that, in his view, the “Berisha” government left behind, emphasizing several times the claim that “we found the state treasury almost empty”...
