Academician Rexhep Qosja has been “refused” the title “Honorary Citizen” in Tropojë, even though two official decisions had previously been taken for this recognition. “GSH” has in its possession two letters that shed light on the event that took place in the Municipality of Tropojë in the northern city. After the municipal council, by majority vote, had managed to award the well-known academic the title, it was chairman Ram Kortoci who blocked it. The two letters we are publishing show, one, the decision taken to honor the well-known professor and, the other, the cancellation of the first. So what actually happened? At the proposal of a group of councilors, the Municipality of Tropojë, with decision no. 70, dated 7.11.2012, had decided to award academic Rexhep Qosja the title “Honorary Citizen,” as a dedicated scholar, a writer with a rich cultural and patriotic activity, and a well-known activist for the national cause.
