The elected prime minister, Edi Rama, said yesterday in an interview for “Top Channel” that the new government aims to raise Albanian diplomacy to a previously unknown level. Regarding visits to Turkey and Greece, Rama stated that these are meetings in function of a strategic partnership extending between Italy, Turkey and Greece. When asked whether he had spoken with Prime Minister Samaras and Minister Venizelos about the maritime border issue, Rama said that “it is an issue that naturally cannot be left out of the talks, it is an issue on which we have a known position, it is an issue on which we have every will to resolve it and it is an issue where the neighbors are also interested in finding a solution, and I am convinced that with goodwill and mutual trust there is nothing that cannot be resolved.” As for relations with Greece, Rama said: “With Greece, it is known that there is a moment to be overcome, after a difficult period in relations between the two countries, for known reasons.
