“Golden Dawn” arrives in Himara for the third anniversary of Aristotel Guma, who was killed after a quarrel with several young men from Vlora. The event took on political tones and is still being exploited today by Greek extremists, who every year set off from Athens for the Guma memorial and create conflicts with anti-Albanian statements that they make. Young men wearing black T-shirts with “Hrisi Avgi” (Golden Dawn) written on them filled the cemeteries of Himara, while the priest of the church of St. Spyridon was taken outside because he did not agree to the requested rites to be held. Meanwhile, the media was attacked by members of “Golden Dawn”, while the police remained neutral and did not get involved in calming the tense situation. The commemoration ceremony began in the church of Himara-Fshat, where the Greek extremists drove out the priest, who refused to submit to their orders, and then moved to the cemetery where the deceased rests. After the anthem and the Greek flags, speeches were given by Guma’s relatives and by delegates of “Hrisi Avgi”, who called for unity.
