The Commissioner for the Protection of Data: Reporters should not be identifiable to the public By DARINA TANUSHI A total of 1,071 reports have been recorded on the portals opened so far by various ministries, from the one initially launched by Prime Minister Edi Rama, “Stop Rrënimit,” to that of the Ministry of Culture, “Shpëto thesarin.” Online reporting has now become fashionable. After the one launched by Prime Minister Edi Rama, which calls on citizens to report illegal construction, it was the Ministry of Justice that opened another portal, inviting citizens to report corruption. Finally, the Ministry of Culture opened the latest site, where it asks that cases of destruction and mistreatment of cultural heritage objects be reported, and even beyond that. “Stoprrënimit.com” was the first site, which contains around 990 reports about unauthorized construction, mainly in major cities and along the coast, but not only there. The initiative of the Socialist Party, undertaken at the beginning of August, continues to receive clicks and new posts from citizens from all four corners of the country. Continues on pages 2-3
