Former owners and former politically persecuted people were left disappointed with the funds planned by the government in the 2014 budget for their compensation. For 2014, owners will receive 100 million lek more from the state budget, while former politically persecuted people will receive 40% less. If a comparison is made between the two budgets, it turns out that this year it had been planned for the owners to receive 1 billion and 100 million lek as part of the legalization fund, while another 200 million lek would be subsidized by the state, whereas for next year the amount that the state treasury will provide for this category remains modest. It does not even make up 0.1% of Albania’s gross domestic product.
