I told him “get up, let’s go to the hospital...” It was one of the hardest moments for Idrina, who for 7 years had been living with Edmond Dervishi, who was killed with 9 bullets on Sunday evening in the capital. The 30-year-old woman was the first person to find the body of the 50-year-old man, riddled with bullets. In a testimony for “Gazeta Shqiptare”, Idrina recounts how she experienced the moment when, on the first floor of the building, she found the body of the man she loved. “I called him several times... I called for help, then I fainted,” says Idrina. Together with the other family members of Edmond Dervishi, she asks the Albanian justice system only to shed light on the case and punish the perpetrators. “Justice” is the word the 50-year-old’s father asks for, and everyone else asks for the same thing. Where were you on the day the murder happened? We were at the beach that day together with Edi. We came back late in the afternoon. We went to Edi’s parents’ house and stayed there for a while.
