Former collective-farm members benefit By OLA MITRE The new law “On social insurance”, which enters into force on 1 January 2015, provides a new formula for calculating the pension amount, while what is worth emphasizing is the removal of the maximum caps. Under the new formula, there will be no fixed pension amount, while the final value will be directly affected by the years worked and the amount of social insurance contributions paid by the insured persons. According to the revised formula, the monthly old-age pension consists of a base amount and a supplement. The base amount is calculated as the ratio of the insurance period completed by the person to the required insurance period, according to the tables attached to the article, multiplied by the social pension. For 2015, this pension is expected to be around 6,646 lekë, while in the following years it will be indexed annually to inflation. Meanwhile, the supplement will be 1 percent for each year of insurance multiplied by the average base... On pages 10-11
