The reference sale and purchase prices of apartments throughout the country have decreased in the new map just approved by the Council of Ministers. The average value of apartment sales and purchases on the free market for Tirana this year is 89,125 lekë per square meter, down from 89,700 lekë in 2013. In Durrës, the average sales and purchase value for this year is 70,093 lekë per square meter, down from 74,000 lekë per square meter a year earlier. In Vlorë, the average price has risen to 61,655 from 60,700 last year, while price drops were also recorded in Korçë, Lezhë and Kukës. The values are set every year by the National Housing Entity as a reference for taxing every sale and purchase of real estate. They are also used as a basis for expert valuation, as well as in cases where property is used as collateral for bank loans. The corrected table shows the average sales and purchase values...
