A financial reward will also be granted A new law on medals in the Armed Forces, submitted by the government to Parliament for approval, aims to recognize the contribution and dedication of military and civilian personnel serving in the Albanian army. The draft law, organized in 36 articles, aims to define the medals, the criteria for awarding them, and the authorities entitled to grant them to military and civilian personnel serving in the army, as well as to foreign military personnel who stand out for their merits and special contributions. The new law provides for recognition of medals awarded before this law enters into force. Thus, the ‘Medalja e Mirënjohjes’ awarded a few months ago to former member of the Central Committee of the PPSh, Vito Kapo, will continue to be recognized by the Albanian government. Meanwhile, the subjects of the draft law are active-duty, reserve, discharged or retired military personnel, civilian staff, units of the Armed Forces, as well as foreign military personnel who stand out for merits and special contributions in the army.
