Southern Albania is under water. According to correspondents in the districts, Gjirokastra, Vlora, Fieri, Lushnja, Devolli are cut off by rivers overflowing their banks. Osumi, Vjosa, Devolli, Gjanica, Shkumbini have broken their course, causing an alarming situation with floods, landslides and power grid failures. The situation in the Elbasan county is also problematic, while it is learned that the Shkumbin River has destroyed the embankment, flooding several homes as well as agricultural land. Meanwhile, as a result of the rains, the old bridge connecting Elbasan with Cërrik has also been damaged. According to sources from the State Police and the Ministry of Interior, the situation is problematic in the counties of Fier and Vlora. It is learned that in the Novoselë municipality, the Vjosa River has gone out of control, causing the flooding of 300 houses.
