The defendants accused of involvement in the scandal of the theft of 713 million lek from the State Treasury, despite the criminal sentence, risk becoming debtors to the state. The Bank of Albania is expected to turn to the Tirana court with a lawsuit for damages, suing precisely the former officials who will be found guilty by justice. In this process, the central bank will be supported by the State Advocacy Office, which throughout the investigation of the case file and even during the trial has acted as intermediary, obtaining information from the prosecutor’s office and the court on behalf of the Bank of Albania.
