By DARINA TANUSHI The Speaker of Parliament, Ilir Meta, was elected yesterday in the fourth round, with 87 votes in favor as president of the country, for a 5-year term. After all procedures were completed and the proposal with 23 signatures from deputies of LSI and PDIU, as well as the support of all Socialist deputies, Meta is expected to officially assume the post of head of the Albanian state on July 24. The voting was secret and the number, but the 2 votes against from the 89 deputies present were understood and were those of Ben Blushi and Mimoza Hafizi, since Blushi himself had announced that he would vote against. But Meta was also not voted for by Tom Doshi, Gjovalin Kadeli, who is ill, and Eduart Ndocaj, apart from the opposition. Meta remained seated yesterday in...
