As we also learned from Ms. Aida Shehu via television during the visit to Slovenia, President Berisha was received by the host country’s president at his headquarters.
It is strange to us Albanians that the Slovenian president did not receive our president at the airport, since the president in question has never been a bank director or a minister—not to mention foreign presidents—without being received at Rinas Airport. It was later reported that President Berisha declared the visit to have been very successful. He said, “I discussed many issues.” As Ms. Shehu reported, the Slovenian vice president gave it to President Berisha. And where was the Slovenian prime minister, since he did not accompany the Albanian president during the meeting?!
International Federation of Journalists protests over

This week, the International Federation of Journalists, headquartered in Brussels, distributed a communiqué notifying all international organizations concerned with the observance of human rights, and especially the right to freedom of the press, about the events taking place at the independent Albanian newspaper «Koha Jonë».
This press federation called for the Albanian government to stop its hand against independent newspapers; the most serious issue is the dispute, now more than six months old, between members of the Meksi government and the director of the newspaper «Koha Jonë», Nikollë Lesi. The communiqué stated that its director, journalist N Lesi, would appear in court. The International Federation of Journalists protests and calls this pressure against the newspaper unacceptable.
Foreign news agencies AFP, ANSA, etc. immediately reported this protest.
