An unprecedented incident in the history of robberies in recent years. Its victim was the Greek driver … Paraske… [?], who, while travelling from Kakavija to Tirana carrying goods for his company in his DAF vehicle (a truck with a … [?]) bearing license plate YXA 8016, was robbed by five Albanian police officers. The incident took place at 2:30 on 18 March in the village between Durrës and Tirana. According to the Greek driver’s own account, the police officers put up a stop sign and asked him for his documents. Meanwhile, he heard them tearing the tarpaulin covering the truck body. Although he rushed to protect the cargo, the police officers moved away faster, snatching his documents and wallet. As can be seen, robbers may not be only civilians.

Yesterday, for four hours at the Investigative Office of the General Prosecutor’s Office, the director of the newspaper “KOHA JONË,” Nikollë Lesi, was questioned by the investigating team handling case file 217. The defendant asked to be informed which articles of Law 6942 dated 25.12.1984 and Council of Ministers Decision No. 70 dated 11.3.1985 he had violated, about which he had refused to answer the investigating team the previous time because they had not specified them. Yesterday the investigating team added another charge against Nikollë Lesi: he had violated Council of Ministers Decision No. 227, dated 10.12.1973, point 3/a. As for Council of Ministers Decision No. 70, dated 11.3.1985, he was charged under Articles 32 and 34. Yesterday, too, the defendant appeared without a lawyer.
