Three journalists from “Zëri i Popullit” detained by the police

Enron Brage, Ardian Myslimi and Alfred Dalip end up in the cells of Police Station No. 3 Yesterday, during the absence of no. 95 in Breg, two duties of the PS branch no. of Tirana, Myslimi and Dalipi were forcibly taken and brought to Police Station No. 3 according to the editor-in-chief, and later ended up in the station’s cells. The incident and this offense against “Zëri”, the arrest, and also the following pages by members of the left and the police forces. The pair of journalists were involved without qualification and blocked the movement of the police forces. Accused by the police forces, the newspaper’s leaders were first stopped before being seized by the gray-uniformed civilians. Dalipi has admitted such a thing. In Skanderbeg Square, in the PS in Skanderbeg Square, the editorial office and the apparatus were accused of lowering the camera. Such actions by the police have happened only with journalists from foreign newspapers. This constitutes a blatant violation of the journalist’s rights, and the Albanian police, under President Berisha, does not respect freedom of the press. It is because of this that the protest is spreading and being taken up by Albanian journalists. The chairman of the Socialist Party, Mr. Fatos Nano, described the scandal as an act that shows how primitive and degenerated today’s regime is. The Presidency of the Socialist Party, which met yesterday, confirmed such a thing. The police action has made the suppression of “Zëri” even more visible. This action by the police and the detention of the journalists has also been condemned by the chairman of the Tirana Party, Servet Pëllumbi, who addresses Berisha with a long speech, together with the police forces. He called it a shameful scandal. Page 3
