Brozi’s imprisonment requested before the “Nano” trial

After the Government’s lawsuit against Brozi at the Constitutional Court Following the lawsuit filed two days ago by the Albanian Government against the head of the Cassation Court, it is now officially being discussed in Albania as an immediate intervention by the executive power in the affairs of the judiciary. The goal is clear: at all costs, Brozi must be prevented from trying the socialist leader Fatos Nano twice within this month. The failure in January of this year of the request to strip Brozi of immunity, of course, seems to have served as a lesson. Although the government’s request has no legal basis, the prearranged scheme to make Brozi a prison mate of Nano has begun to work. page 2 The Government’s lawsuit, an interference in the affairs of the judiciary

850 thousand dollars go up in flames

The fire destroys the company “Euro-plast” FIER - The flames needed two hours to destroy the company “Euro-plast,” whose building was located within the territory of the oil refinery in Fier. According to the first accounts put forward by firefighters and the investigative team, the fire is thought to have been caused by an electrical arc around 11:00 yesterday morning. At first, the sponges that had been placed inside the building caught fire; later, the sponge production machinery was destroyed. “A colossal loss was first and foremost dealt to the company’s capital. Our machinery was advanced Norwegian technology from 1994,” says the company’s engineer, Kristaq Mushka. Indeed, he continues, “in Eastern Europe our sponge production line was the best.” After three months of activity, the sponge-producing company “Euro-plast” is starting again from zero. The preliminary damage caused to the company is estimated at 850 thousand dollars, including the machinery, raw materials and the sponges that were waiting to be distributed on the market. The firefighters of Fier, Vlora and Mallakastër were unable to put out the fire in time; in fact, their main focus was to protect the refinery at all costs, whose units were only a few meters away from the burned site. In addition to the police forces at the scene, alarmed officials from Alb-petrol and the Ministry of Mineral Resources also arrived, still carrying the bitter memory of Kuçova. ZAMIR ALUSHI
